Essaouira is a very photogenic place on the West coast of Morocco: its fortifications surrounding its white and blue-painted houses lend it a kind of maritime charm. The small harbor is especially worth a visit with its flocks of seagulls and its hundreds of bright blue boats. I only spent one day in Essaouira but I could have stayed much longer, just strolling around: fishermen unloading their catch of the day or lifting fishing nets, people coming to buy fresh food or just sitting down for a little chat…
